Maggie Broadwell, BSN, RN, TCRN, CEN, CPEN, joined the PTSF in June 2024 as the Performance Improvement Specialist. Previously, Maggie was most recently employed as a PI Coordinator at Geisinger Wyoming Valley, since 2019, where she assisted with an upgrade to the trauma program’s accreditation level, from Adult Level II to Adult Level I status. Maggie received her undergraduate degree from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2015 and began her clinical experience in emergency medicine. Maggie was also previously employed at Geisinger Medical Center (Adult Level I/Pediatric Level II), Inova Fairfax Hospital (Commonwealth of Virginia Adult Level I), and Walter Reed Military Medical Center (ACS Adult Level II). At Walter Reed Military Medical Center, Maggie served as a staff nurse and charge nurse in multiple facilities’ emergency departments. While employed on the civilian side, Maggie also served as an emergency/trauma nurse (66T) in the United States Army Reserve as a Captain for seven years. She served in various leadership roles while assigned to a Combat Support Hospital (CSH) and Forward Surgical Team (FST) and was activated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Maggie was deployed to Afghanistan on a Golden Hour Offset Surgical Team (GHOST) and was involved in medical training of coalition forces on site in addition to medical duties in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
