PTSF Standards of Accreditation
The Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation is responsible for establishing standards for accrediting trauma centers at varying levels based on a hospital’s resources and capabilities to follow trauma protocol.
Standards are based on the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient. The PTSF publishes Standards of Accreditation for Adult Level I, Level II, and Level III, Adult Level IV, and Pediatric Level I and Level II trauma centers.
All accreditation requirements are developed through the PTSF’s Standards Committee and approved by the PTSF’s Board of Directors. The PTSF Standards Committee Staff Liaison is Darlene Gondell, Director of Accreditation. Contact Darlene with any Standards related questions.
