We have patients with financial assistance programs, or use the Ablepay product. For Payor, are these considered ‘Other’?
The financial assistance gives free or discount, based on income, but if there is money due, they still pay it, so it would be self-pay. If primary insurance is self-pay, then secondary is None. In the comment field for primary, you could enter FAP, if you want to track it.
Ablepay is a product which provides bill collection for the hospital (they pay the hospital a cheaper rate and take over collection like a collection agency). It also allows patients to sign up ahead of time, and make payment plans, but the patient still pays, so that is recorded as self-pay.
