Amy Kempinski, MSN, RN, CEN, TCRN, serves as the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation’s Vice President. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons System Consultation Team, and she is a consultant/site surveyor for trauma systems across the United States. Mrs. Kempinski’s years of nursing experience span the trauma spectrum to include her roles as Trauma Program Manager at WellSpan York Hospital’s Level One Trauma Center, Nurse Manager of a Trauma/Neuro ICU, an Emergency Department Manager/Educator, and an Orthopedics Clinical Operations Manager. Amy is a Past President of the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN) and previously served the organization as Secretary and Director-at-Large. Mrs. Kempinski is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association and is an associate member of the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma. She is a peer-review editor for the Journal of Trauma Nursing. She has published several articles, which focus on Trauma Accreditation, Crew Resource Management, Leadership, and Injury Prevention. Amy contributes as an author and faculty member for the STN OPTIMAL course. She serves on the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing Exam Content Review Committee for the Trauma Certified Registered Nurse Certification examination. Amy was also a faculty member for advanced courses – Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) and Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC).
