Standards of Accreditation

The Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF) “Standards of Accreditation” were approved by the Board of Directors on December 5, 2007.  The current “Standards” are in effect as of October 1, 2008.

Future changes and/or clarifications of “Standards” will be posted to this section of the website.

The PTSF Standards Committees—both Adult and Pediatric—worked to create this revised document.  Changes to the adult standards (level I, II & III) and pediatric standards (level I & II) reflect the recent update from the American College of Surgeons (ACS). 

As mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the PTSF will at a minimum, meet the ACS standards.
