More ICD-10-CM/PCS Delay Info

34.14.14

As many of you are now aware, ICD-10-CM/PCS implementation in the U.S. has been delayed until at least October 1, 2015. As of April 3, 2014 a new implementation date had not been set by CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services).  It is important to not lose momentum in the transition to ICD-10, and we encourage everyone to continue to move forward with ICD-10 education. The Foundation will be moving forward with the current schedule of monthly webinars as well as the currently scheduled regional two day ICD-10 courses. The ICD-10 monthly webinar recordings will be available until ICD-10 is implemented. The Foundation will be working over the next several months with Digital Innovation, Inc., the registry committee and the Board of Directors to determine our course of action regarding the use of ICD-10 in the PTOS (Pennsylvania Trauma Outcome Study) for 2015.  We welcome your comments and concerns regarding the ICD-10-CM/PCS delay. Please e-mail Nathan McWilliams at Nathan@ptsf.org with any ICD-10 comments or concerns. Check the ICD-10 page on our website for continued information regarding the delay and other ICD-10 topics. Additional ICD-10 information can be found at www.AHIMA.org.
